Central Railroad Of New Jersey Terminal
On the Jersey side of the Hudson River, the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal stands as a reminder of America’s immigrant journey. Built in 1889, it served as a major departure point for millions of newcomers arriving through Ellis Island. The terminal operated for nearly 80 years and is now part of Liberty State Park.
Fun Fact: About two-thirds of Ellis Island immigrants, roughly 8 million people, began their new lives from this very spot.
